Adjunct Faculty - OS + Algorithms

The School of Health Sciences at Lasell University seeks an adjunct professor to teach (1) section of OS + Algorithms in the Fall 2022 semester.

The courses will meet in person:

DSCI     203        OS + Algorithms       TR       12:30-1:45
 

Course Title: OS + Algorithms

Description:

An introduction to the theory and structure of modern operating systems, including hardware abstraction, process management, memory management, system performance, and security. Specific attention to multi-threaded processing, semaphores, locking and inter-process communication.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide instruction for all sessions of assigned courses utilizing the college philosophy of connected learning
  • Align course assignments with program learning outcomes and university core curriculum learning outcomes; provide student work samples for assessment purposes
  • Incorporate Canvas (learning management system) into the course
  • Maintain office hours each week
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and complete mid-semester and final grade reports

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidates should have M.S, M.Ed., or equivalent (PhD preferred) in related field
  • Prior undergraduate-level teaching experience
  • Strong communication skills, ability to provide mentorship and guidance remotely by email, phone and or video call, and willingness to offer extensive feedback on student work Required
