Welcome to Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend!

The Office of Student Activities & Orientation welcomes new students to Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend, a three-day event held in September, just prior to classes beginning.

Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend 2022 runs on Saturday, September 3rd through Monday, September 5th. During Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend you will learn how to navigate the Lasell campus, explore some of what Boston has to offer, and spend time with your classmates! Part of this program is focused on adjusting to your new community, learning where your classes will take place, meeting with faculty and staff members, and enjoying time with other new students.

Below you will find a brief descriptions of each of the off-campus trips being offered throughout the weekend. To purchase tickets or reserve your spot, please head to University Tickets.

PURCHASE TICKETS

Off Campus Trips

Most trips will depoart from the Arnow Campus Center. Upon registering for your selected trips, you will recieve a confirmation email with specific meeting times and locations. Trips will be led by an Orientation Leader along with a faculty/staff volunteer.

Boston Duck Tour

Hop into a duck boat—renovated World War II amphibious vehicle—for a comprehensive tour of Boston. Pass Boston Common, Quincy Market, and the Celtics' home turf at TD Garden. Then splashdown into the Charles River for a view of the city by boat. Learn all about Boston's history and landmarks as you go.

This trip costs $20. You may need additional money for shopping and lunch if desired.

Old Town Trolley Tour

Get a real taste of the city with the Old Town Trolley Tour! This tour will cover all the major areas including Downtown, Beacon Hill, Back Bay, the Theater District, and the Waterfront District. You will have the option to “hop-on and hop-off” at any stop along the tour or just ride through the city and learn about the amazing city that is Boston!

This trip costs $18. You may need additional money for shopping and lunch if desired.

Freedom Trail Walking Tour

The Freedom Trail is a 2.5-mile-long path through downtown Boston, Massachusetts, that passes by 16 locations significant to the history of the United States. Marked largely with brick, it winds between Boston Common to the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown.  Stop by the visitor’s center next to the Park Street T Stop for maps and more information!

Newbury Street

Walk through Boston’s Back Bay on the famous Newbury Street, home to an eclectic mix of independent shops and high-end fashion and dining establishments.

Faneuil Hall Marketplace

Located in the heart of downtown Boston, Faneuil Hall Marketplace is the nation's premier urban marketplace. It combines the glories of the past and vitality of the present, with 49 shops, 44 pushcarts, 13 full-service restaurants, and 35 food stalls.

This trip costs $5. You may need additional money for shopping and lunch if desired.

The Public Garden and Chinatown

Check out The Public Garden, also known as Boston Public Garden. It is a large park in the heart of Boston, next to the Boston Common offering wonder swan boat tours in the pond. Close to the Public Garden is Chinatown, the cultural heart of the Chinese community and a lively late-night hub. Asian eateries range from dumpling houses and dim sum palaces to seafood spots and upscale lounges. Bakeries, food markets and gift shops dot the area. At the entrance to the neighborhood, contemporary Chinatown Park features a river-inspired fountain, plants native to Asia and a square that draws chess players.

Target Trip

Need last minutes school supplies or fun decorations for your residence hall? We will offer a trip to a local Target so that you can get any supplies you may have realized you forgot during move-in.

This trip is free. Advanced registration guarantees a seat.

Boston Harbor Boat Cruise

Join the Class of 2026 for an evening on the Charles River! Enjoy the weather, the views, and a night of dancing on the boat!

This trip costs $5.
