COVID-19 Information

Spring 2022 Campus Guidelines

The following guidelines will be in effect as we begin the spring semester. These guidelines are subject to change. As we have done throughout this pandemic, we will continue to follow the data and the science and adjust accordingly. All our decisions have been made with the safety of our community at the forefront and in consultation with state and local health authorities.

COVID-19 Dashboard

Ongoing Surveillance Testing

As of February 19:

  • All members of our community with an approved vaccine exemption must test once per week and wear masks indoors at all times.
  • Weekly testing is no longer mandatory for vaccinated students, faculty, and staff.
  • All members of our community who wish to be tested for COVID-19 are welcome and encouraged to visit the testing center.
  • The use of wristbands for weekly testing compliance will be discontinued.

Masking Protocols

  • For all vaccinated members of the Lasell community, our campus is now “mask optional.”
  • All unvaccinated members of our community are required to wear masks indoors at all times.
  • Masks are optional in all classes.
    • Faculty have the option to require masks in their individual classes.
    • Students and faculty with approved vaccine exemptions are still required to wear masks in all buildings, including classrooms.
    • Lasell fully supports all who choose to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Those who still choose to mask either inside or outside will be fully supported.
  • The city of Newton has lifted their indoor mask mandate. In accordance with that policy, vaccinated guests are no longer required to wear masks when inside buildings on our campus.

Quarantine and Isolation

  • All vaccinated or unvaccinated students who test positive for COVID-19 will be asked to isolate at home or in designated campus housing.

  • All unvaccinated students who are deemed a close contact will be asked to quarantine at home or in designated campus housing.

Guidance for Guests and Visitors

  • All unvaccinated guests will be expected to wear a mask while indoors, on campus.

As this pandemic continues to change and evolve, so too will our guidelines, as we work to keep our community safe.

COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster Requirement

Lasell University requires the COVID-19 vaccine for everyone on campus – students, employees, and our valued partners - including booster shots. Learn more about the vaccination requirement.

All members of the community are required to receive a booster by February 2.
