STEP 2: Register for Orientation / Course Registration Survey
Laser Link Orientation
Laser Link Orientation is our summer orientation program for incoming first-year students. During this two-day program, you will stay on campus, receive academic advising, meet other new students, and more. It is an opportunity to connect with your new classmates, learn about the campus, and help prepare you for the fall semester. This summer we are offering three sessions:
2024 Session Dates:
• Session 1: Monday, June 17 & Tuesday, June 18
• Session 2: Thursday, June 20 & Friday, June 21
• Session 3: Monday, June 24 & Tuesday, June 25
Space for each of these sessions is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that there is no advantage to attending the first session; an equal number of spaces will be set aside for each session. We urge you to register as soon as possible, especially if there are only one or two sessions that work for your schedule. If you are unable to attend any of the listed orientation sessions, please contact info@lasell.edu the discuss how to register for courses and available make-up orientation sessions.
When you register for orientation, you will be asked to answer several questions related to course/scheduling preferences. Your academic advisor will use this information to register you for classes. During Orientation, you will receive your schedule and be able to discuss any changes you wish to make to it.
Before registering online, please see if any parents or family members will be attending our Parent and Family Orientation (more information below), as you will need to register their information as well. Confirmation of your registration will be sent to your Lasell email – please begin to check this email at least once a week.
Laser Link Orientation will begin at 8:30 am on the first day of each session and end by 3:30 pm on the second day of each session. Overnight housing is included as part of the program. More specific information, including a full schedule and packing list, will be sent to registered students' Lasell emails in the weeks prior to the program. If you need to leave the program earlier than scheduled, please contact the Office of Student Activities & Orientation in advance. Please note: Students will not be allowed to leave the program without prior approval. Failure to adhere to this policy may result in your inability to meet with an Academic Advisor to receive and discuss your course schedule.
Parent And Family Orientation
Parent and Family Orientation is a program that complements the Laser Link Orientation. A variety of information sessions and other events are planned for your visit. Parent and Family Orientation registration is processed concurrently with students' Laser Link Orientation registration. There is a fee of $15.00 per guest which covers the cost of lunch. Payment will be collected upon arrival – accepted payment forms include cash, credit/debit, or check.
This program occurs on Day 2 of each Laser Link Orientation Session (June 18, 21, & 25) beginning at 10:00 am. It concludes at approximately 3:30 pm, in time to meet with students completing the Laser Link Orientation program. It is designed to provide family members an opportunity to learn more about the many aspects of the Lasell experience, and to get information that will help to ease the transition period. - Navigate to: https://lasellstudents-ma.vectorlmsedu.com/

Note that failure to complete the courses will result in inability to register for courses for the following semester; you must complete both courses and follow-up surveys before the Registration period opens for the following semester, or your account will placed be on a registration hold.
About the Required Trainings
AlcoholEdu for College
Whether or not you abstain from alcohol, it is likely that it has some influence on your life or on the lives of your family and friends. Used widely across US college campuses, AlcoholEdu for College is a thoughtful and educational program for young adults. This training is designed to help you make well-informed decisions about alcohol and help you to reflect upon and consider issues related to drinking at college.
Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduate Students
This training is designed to increase your understanding of what constitutes healthy relationships and to prevent/deter the incidence of sexual assault. This course provides opportunities to learn about the importance of consent and of being a good communicator and the many ways you can help to create a safe, positive campus.
Please note that the AlcoholEdu course includes surveys that offer you feedback on your alcohol-related attitudes and behaviors and the Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates course asks about attitudes toward relationships. All survey responses are strictly confidential, as confidentiality is essential for students to respond accurately and without reservation. We will only be given access to information regarding whether or not you have completed the trainings and if you request us to contact you.
If you have any questions, please email the Counseling Center at counselingcenter@lasell.edu or the Office of Health Education at well@lasell.edu.
STEP 9: Completing your Financial Aid
The Office of Financial Aid welcomes you to Lasell University! We are here to guide you through every step of your educational journey from admission through graduation, and beyond. We welcome you to book an appointment to get started.
We can help with questions and information about:
- Applying for financial aid
- Lasell University Awards
- Federal and/or state grants
- Student employment or federal work-study employment
- College savings plans (529 plans)
- Other scholarship resources
- Status change updates such as enrollment adjustments, housing preference, change in major, etc.
- Financing options with student accounts
- Change in financial circumstances (Appeals form)
Financial Aid Required Steps
1. Complete FAFSA
If you are enrolling for the Fall 2024 semester, complete your 2024-25 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) with Lasell’s school code of 002158.
The 2024-25 FAFSA will require your 2022 tax information. To determine eligibility for Massachusetts State Grants, the priority deadline to submit the FAFSA is May 1, 2024 (MA residents only). Students that do not intend to apply for additional financial aid do not have to submit a FAFSA. If you do not intend to file a FAFSA, please let our office know of your alternative plans at finaid@lasell.edu.
2. Submit Transfer Credits (if applicable)
If you are a transfer student or if you have earned any dual enrollment college credits, please provide all official transcripts to your admissions counselor to review your transfer credit eligibility. This is to ensure you will receive your correct grade level if you are planning on borrowing a Federal Direct loan.
3. Financial Aid Documentation (such as tax returns or requested documentation)
Return any requested required documentation to the Office of Financial Aid as soon as possible (if documents are received late, your financial aid awards may be delayed). Please upload any requested documents (such as tax returns or identification documentation) via the 2024-2025 Verification Worksheet. Depending on your start date, your financial aid deadline may vary.
Lasell University makes every effort to work with students and families to discuss and evaluate changes in a family's financial circumstances. If you find your financial situation has changed and would like your account to be evaluated, please fill out the Appeals Form for New Incoming students and submit the appeal with the appropriate requested documentation.
If assistance is needed, please contact us at finaid@lasell.edu or 617-243-2227.
4. Federal Direct Student Loan Steps
If you are eligible for a federal direct student loan after completing your FAFSA form, the student borrower is required to complete loan acceptance steps prior to disbursement. A student must complete the two following items at Federal Student Aid with the student FSA ID and password:
- Direct Loan Master Promissory Note
- Direct Loan Entrance Counseling
Students are under no obligation to accept these loans. You also have the option to reduce or decline these loans. Students—not their parent or guardian—must express their borrowing preference in writing to finaid@lasell.edu. If these steps are not completed, or if received late, your federal direct student loan disbursements will be delayed and your balance due may be impacted. All bills are due by August 1, 2024 for the Fall semester.
5. Balance Resolution
Prepare any balance resolutions plans, as needed. Lasell University offers a payment plan, which does require a $40 per semester fee. First payments are due August 1, 2024. Please visit our Payment Information page for further details. If alternative financing is needed, eligible parents can consider the federal direct parent PLUS loans, or private educational loans. We recommend borrowing a loan amount sufficient to cover all future semesters enrolled for the year. Bills are due in full by August 1, 2024 for the Fall semester.
Students who enroll less than full-time may have their aid adjusted accordingly after the add/drop period. Enrollment is confirmed on the last day to add/drop classes.
Please contact the Office of Financial Aid with any questions at finaid@lasell.edu or 617-243-2227.
- Academic Year hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The office issues ebilling statements and collects payments for tuition, housing, meal plans, and any other applicable fees.
eBills are generated approximately 30 days prior to the due date each semester. Bills are emailed to the students' Lasell University email address and to any shared user the student has given access to on the Student Account Center.
Due Dates are as follows:
- August 1 for the fall semester
- January 1 for the spring semester

If a student has their own insurance policy they may waive this coverage by visiting the Lasell University Student Health Insurance Plan. Waivers need to be completed by the billing due date.
Be sure to read the 2024-2025 Undergraduate Billing Policies. It contains important and helpful information regarding your financial responsibilities and options while attending Lasell University. Visit the Payment Information site for additional information. Please contact the Student Accounts Office with any questions at studentaccounts@lasell.edu or 617-243-2227.
STEP 11: Submit Your Final Transcript
All incoming first-year students must submit their final high school transcript before starting classes in the fall semester. This transcript must be submitted by your high school and we cannot accept an unofficial copy directly from you. Please reach out to your high school guidance department and have them send us a copy. The final transcript must include a date of graduation, otherwise we will also need a copy of your high school diploma.
Transfer students must submit official final transcripts from all colleges that they have attended. These transcripts must not have any “In Progress” coursework. If you have earned 12 or more credits, we do not require a high school transcript. If you are a transfer student with less than 12 credits, we will require a final high school transcript as well.
