    Ruth Upham Petremont celebrated her 100th birthday on May 7, 2015.


    1942: Class Secretary: Gertrude “Trudy” Ruch Kauffman

    Virginia Weeks Hatch hasn’t played golf in several years, but is keeping busy in Meredith, NH.

    Gertrude “Trudy” Ruch Kauffman recently visited Lopez Island, off the coast of Washington, where she and two of her daughters had a reunion with her third daughter who lives there.

    Kathryn Starkey Litehiser lives with her sister in Rochester, MN and tells Leaves she is “doing fairly well for 92.”

    Anne Witney Shea lives with her daughter on a 100-acre horse farm in Pennsylvania’s Amish country, where her grandchildren work.

    1950: Class Secretary: Marguerite “Marni” Nahigian Sarkisian

    Marylin Sargent Babineau sold her home and is downsizing after being widowed three years ago. Still in good health, Marylin travels to Florida every winter, owns property in a golf community and hits the links at least three times a week. Her oldest daughter, a 1973 Lasell graduate, is an artist who has exhibited in Lyme, NH.

    Christine Oliveto Davis treasures the time she spent with classmates at her 65th Reunion this past June.

    Sabra Turner Stockdale leads bible study at her church in West Dennis, MA and continues to enjoy skiing and camping.

    Lois Schaller Toegemann lives in a villa in Florida, has three grandchildren and travels regularly.

    Nancy Nelson Weiss plays duplicate bridge, enjoys Japanese threading and loves walking her poodle.

    1952: Class Secretary: Geraldine “Missy” Paulmier Hazell

    Beverly Segerberg Britton attended a mini-reunion of Lasell classmates in June at Ruth Easterlind Cederberg’s home in Mattapoisett, MA. Bev hopes to meet Ina Friedman Steinhauser and Geraldine “Missy” Paulmier Hazell in New York City “for an overdue lunch date.”

    Millicent Jewell Bruce is a volunteer at the Rockport, MA Music Hall. She has three children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and is enjoying retirement in Rockport.

    After a strenuous move from their home of 48 years, Barbara “Bobbi” Rost Goodman and her husband, Bob, relocated to “a lovely senior living facility in Dallas.”

    Geraldine “Missy” Paulmier Hazell hopes for a good turnout for her 65th Reunion in 2017!

    Virginia “Ginny” Johnson Irwin and her husband, Lou, live in Virginia Beach, VA. They have seven grandchildren, three of whom live nearby, while three are off at college. Ginny is still active in daycare at a church pre-school when she is in Florida, and she and Lou help out at the food bank at their church.

    Recently widowed, Terry Wingate Machette is clearing out her house of 44 years to relocate in the same area of Connecticut. She remains very active in her church community. Terry reports that her granddaughter recently was one of three women on a 20-person firefighting crew in Oregon.

    Virginia “Ginny” Snedaker Marschall, who owns Lakama Travel, which services clients nationwide, plans to tour Europe with her daughter, including a river cruise on the Danube from Nuremberg to Budapest.

    Betty Lou Foy Reid’s husband has recovered from open heart surgery and is back to work “at 83 years young.” The couple frequently visit their two daughters in Newport, RI.

    1953: Class Secretary: Shirley Gibbons San Soucie

    Longtime Overseer Shirley Vara Gallerani spent the winter in Naples, FL and celebrated her grandson’s graduation from Marshall University in West VA. She enjoyed a summer lunch with Mary Ann Donahue, and in the fall, both women attended a Lasell Board of Overseers meeting.

    Shirley Gibbons San Soucie spent her winter on snowy Martha’s Vineyard until April, then traveled to Longwood, FL to visit her daughter and granddaughter for a few months.

    1955: Class Secretary: Bobbie Jennings

    Commenting on her class’s 60th reunion, Nancy Goodman Cobin tells Leaves, “Lasell did a beautiful job, well planned and everything went smoothly.” She was disappointed that only five classmates were there, and hopes “that more will show up for our 65th.” Nancy, who was honored at her 60th reunion with a Lasell Medallion, celebrated her 80th birthday at a party her husband, children and grandchildren threw.

    Genevieve “Gigi” Harold, who still lives in New York, will have by now made her yearly trip to the Bay State to visit with Lucinda Nolin Johnson. Gigi spends the winter months in Florida but does miss the days when skiing was her sport. “It started at Lasell, when we’d go up to North Conway, NH, for the mid-semester break,” she writes.

    Class Secretary Bobbie Jennings reminds classmates: “If you do not have e-mail and would like to submit an item to Class Notes, please contact me at the home address above. If you do have e-mail, I would appreciate a response to the e-mail request I send out before each issue of Leaves is published. Personally, I much prefer to receive mail the old-fashioned way.”

    Marilyn Valter Maclay and her husband live in an adult community in North Carolina, where she has been able to visit the surrounding Smoky Mountains, Blue Ridge Mountains and Outer Banks. Marilyn keeps in touch with Ann Haskew, Barbara Travis Hendricks, Genevieve “Gigi” Harold and Valerie Montanez.

    Elizabeth Taylor Pratt has been married to David Pratt for more than 57 years. They have three children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Elizabeth remembers her years at Lasell fondly and is still in touch with her best friend, Marguerite “Maggie” Roth Wells.

    Lucille Marden Randall celebrated her 80th birthday at an open house planned by her family. Friends from her high school, church, childhood and camping circles joined in.

    Joan Murano Swanson celebrated her 80th birthday at Belhurst Castle on Seneca Lake in Geneva, NY. “The castle is over 100 years old, built to recreate the castles of Europe. We had the suite on the top floor, which included curving stairs to the turret—a great view.”

    Relatives from all over the country traveled to Ohio in September for Jean Ryder Tyler’s 80th birthday party.

    “Younger” classmates Marilyn “Maggie” Wells Stewart and Bobbie Jennings had to wait until November to celebrate.


    Joan Daniels Reiser had a great time at the East Dennis, MA home of Janet Parmenter Bogardus, along with Toni Kennedy Gelotte and Donna Schmitt Gormley.

    1958: Class Secretary: Mary Ann Fuller Young

    Gail Winalski Burd and Bette Stubbe Carcano met up in Naples, FL.

    Ann Reeves Burton is rehabbing after a sixth joint replacement. Her husband, Bob, retired from Episcopal Music Ministry this fall, and they plan a move to Raleigh, NC to be close to family.

    Margaret “Peggy” Harman Eaton enjoyed a trip to Spain, Mallorca and France. She keeps in touch with Gail Winalski Burd and Harriet “Jerry” Beard Ackerman.

    Gail Seibert Glover is enjoying condo living and sends greetings to all!

    Marsha Singer Marshall writes to Class Notes from her 19th RV trip with her husband and Adventure Caravans, where they do a lot of volunteer work. The Marshalls now live in Florida, where they hosted the Lasell Baseball team last spring.

    Rosalind “Linda” Ferrucci Merrell met up with Carole Bartholomew Dusseau in Florida, near Painters Hill, and is looking for other alums in the area. Linda’s grandchildren attend Monmouth University in New Jersey and Vanderbilt in Nashville.

    Mary Ann Fuller Young, fresh from the Vermont College of Fine Arts Writers’ Residency program in Slovenia, writes that “the country is a wonderful place to explore, from the Alps to the Adriatic, from the quaint town of Skofja Loka to the capital, Ljubijana. The relaxed pace is infectious.” Mary Ann subsequently traveled solo to Vienna “to gawk at the castles and unbelievable jewels as well as chocolate confections."



    Marilyn Senior Legg continues to enjoy her position at Thayer Academy in Braintree, MA as assistant to the headmaster, where she has worked for some 28 years.

    Kathi Lehnartz Reed recently authored Banking on Trouble, available in bookstores in paperback or on Kindle, and hopes “some of my Lasell friends will read it.”

    1961: Class Secretary: Elaine “Laine” Butler Ryan

    Everything is “ducky” in Evergreen, CO at the Dam Ducky Derby where Carol “Shu” Schumacher Dougherty is in great form presiding over the slate of events.

    Elizabeth “Betty” Hood went to Boothbay Harbor, ME with Aline Carleton Beck ’60, who Betty shared an apartment with after Lasell. Betty particularly enjoyed the clambake and cruise to Cabbage Island. Ballroom dance remains important in her life; she still studies, teaches and competes and tells Leaves she “loves the challenge 54 years post-graduation!”

    Donna Skillings Kessler met up with other Pickard House girls Judith “Judy” Sylvia Kamienski, Nancy Kinghorn Batayte, Sharon Handley House, Barbara “Twink” Carberry Haddad, Charlotte “Charlie” Siders Morgan and Carolyn Bird Murray in Portsmouth, NH. Donna writes, “We feel blessed to still have these wonderful friendships.

    1963: Class Secretary: Gail Grange Johnson

    In June, five Lasell gals from the Class of 1963 — Leslie Spencer Ames, Mary Lou Colby Daley, Susan Greenslade Brooks, Carol Schaller Rooney and Cornelia “Corky” Bessemer Hatfield- gathered with their husbands for dinner in Connecticut and “had lots of laughs and a wonderful time.”

    Barbara Christiansen Haimann and her husband are enjoying retirement and their grandchildren. They have lots of family living nearby. Barbara still visits with her Lasell roommate, Deborah “Debbie” Begg McKinney and enjoys sharing memories of their College days.

    Gail Grange Johnson had a great time in Florida with fellow Carpenter girls Nancy Spelman Moyer, Cornelia “Corky” Bessemer Hatfield, Avery Leach Egloff and Leslie Spencer Ames.


    Patricia “Pat” Perry Polidor, Ruth DeWitt Ghia and Joan Keefe Feloney met in the Berkshires and had lawn seats at Tanglewood for a Tony Bennett/Lady Gaga concert.


    Mary Ann “Polly” Griffin Lally was sorry to miss her 50th Lasell reunion. She and her husband, Don, retired 11 years ago and moved from New Hampshire to Marco Island, FL. They


    Janice Kepner Ajootian, who still owns and operates a manufacturing and distribution business in Rhode Island, reports she is caring for her 100-year-old mother.

    Kathryn “Kathy” Morgan Lucey retired from Lasell’s Rockwell Child Care Center and plans on spending more time with her grandchildren as well as doing some traveling. She is in touch with Donna Garrow Johnson and looks forward to seeing other classmates at their 50th reunion.


    1970: Class Secretary: Deborah “Debbie” Kimerling Schneider


    Nancy Ingram Mantius, who recently retired from hospital nursing in New Hampshire, has three adult children who live in NH and Connecticut. Nancy writes that she would love to hear from Lasell friends she’s lost contact with.

    1982: Class Secretary: Corinne Guyett Norris

    Diane Raymond Grillone cannot believe she has worked as a nurse, mainly in surgical and coronary ICU settings, for 32 years! Currently living on Boston’s South Shore and commuting to the city three days a week, she is a staff nurse at the Tufts PACU. Married with two children, her son is a software developer in Vermont, and her daughter is scheduled to graduate pre-vet from Simmons College in 2016. Not ready to retire quite yet, Diane hopes to move closer to the city and continue traveling in Europe. She has fond memories of Lasell, including spring break in Bermuda, “crew” and her friends, the late Rosalind Deacon and Virginia "Ginny” Minor O’Malley.

    Time is really flying for Lisa Allen McGoff. Her daughter got married in August, and her youngest child began college at UMass Amherst in the fall. Lisa and Lori Stein Ferrari met recently at Lori’s summer home in Rhode Island.

    After 14 years of being “at home” raising her sons Mitch (14) and Nick (12), Corinne Guyett Norris is working full-time at Weddell & Reed Financial Advisors in Portsmouth, NH, where her husband, Greg, is at B2W Software. Corinne’s 89- year-old mother, recovered from two major surgeries, lives independently in the house where Corinne grew up.


    Seta Zerdelian Liacopoulos of Needham, MA has joined the Acuity Business Solutions Deltek Vision Consulting Team. Seta is also co-chair of the Boston Deltek Vision User Group and a member of the company’s Large Firm User Group and Power User Group.



    Kristin Melone Lakacha returned to Boston and is now a credentialed trainer and consultant for HCTEC, where she helps train 26,000 employees at Partners Healthcare and Dana Farber Cancer Institute in using a new medical records system. Kristin enjoys time with her children, Selma and Azra (both 15) and 10-year-old Sean


    Susan Allen Lopez was named the first principal of New Swanson Road Intermediate School in Auburn, MA.



    Christian Dumais’s DruMais Hair Salon has been up and running for nearly four years. Christian was named to the board of directors of the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce, where he is on the Rising Young Professionals Steering Committee and was recognized as “Entrepreneur of the Year.”


    After graduating with a degree in Hospitality, Lindsey Milheirao Caceres is now a sonographer at Tufts Medical Center and the mother of a daughter, Adriana Rose, born in 2014.

    Karen Weaver Moya and her husband, Dave Weaver, were named two of the “Best Realtors in Washington, DC” by Washingtonian Magazine. The couple has two sons: a four-year-old and an 18-month-old.

    Ashley Seybold is a talent acquisition partner at DataXU, a Boston-based advertising technology company. She is also a total “momager” to her “insta-famous” dog, Beignet, available for viewing on instagram at @daily_Beignet.

    Avari Thomas was a featured designer at Noir Fashion Week Boston in March.


    Tia Jackson, founder of Tia’s Cakes and Pastries, was interviewed in the Bay State Banner in July about “the recipe for a successful business.”

    2008: Class Secretary: Kevin Lang

    Salvatore Gianni’s work was featured at the Boston Caribbean Fashion Week in August.

    Julie Bortnick Weinstein, a lifestyle blogger (From Prosecco to Plaid) and founder of the social media and digital marketing agency LJ Creative House, married in 2014 and is currently living in Houston, TX.

    Adam Dushman is the first recipient of Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s Patient Safety Star Award which recognizes a member of the NWH team “who actively contributes to patient safety.”

    Michael Waugh and Amanda Keeling Waugh married in 2013 and have a three-year-old daughter, Madison.


    Emily Hancock was promoted to soft goods designer at Boston’s Gentex Corporation and has lived in Arlington, MA for the past three years.

    Rachel Howard teaches elementary school in Gainesville, FL.

    Katelyn Hammond Lincoln G’11 and her husband, James Lincoln G’13, moved to Kentucky in 2013, where James is pursuing a PhD at the University of Kentucky. Katelyn began working at Kentucky Educational Television (KET) in 2014, and the couple welcomed a daughter this year

    Megan Courtney was hired by ’47 Brand as an account services representative.

    Katelyn Roberts Malinowski G’11 married longtime boyfriend Karl Malinowski in July. Katelyn stays in touch with great friends Sarah Salhaney Duguay and Samantha Plack.

    2011: Class Secretary: Kimberly “Kim” Hooper

    Katie Casavant began working as a project manager at Ambit Creative Group, a printing company, in May. She and William Siskowitz were married in October.

    Ashley Jannino participated in the One Mission Buzz Off for Kids with Cancer in June. She shaved off 19 inches of her hair— and raised $7,800 for the charity.

    Christine Lam, who traveled to Costa Rica in early 2015, is in her final year of Salem State University’s MBA program.

    2012: Class Secretary: Kasey Looney

    Jordan Mayblum was named “Rookie of the Year” in the “weekly” category of the New England Better Newspaper Competition. He writes for the Wellesley Townsman.

    2013: Class Secretary: William “Will” Dempsey

    Joanna de Peña was recognized as a “Top Ranked U.S. Executive” by the National Council of American Executives in 2014. She was also selected as a "Woman of Outstanding Leadership” and given an “International Women’s Leadership Association Award.”

    Sean Donovan joined Optima Bank & Trust as a mortgage loan processor and closer.

    Lindsay Reilly, CEO of Lindsay Tia, has launched an I Am Brave campaign in partnership with the USO New England. As part of the effort, $10 from every Bravery Bag sold before December 31, 2015 will be donated to the USO.

    2014: Class Secretary: Kevin Moloney

    Diane Coon has traveled halfway around the world to work in Albania. She lives and teaches high-school English in a small town on the sea. Diane works with other American volunteers for organizations like HeForShe.

    Andrew DeCataldo is a communications specialist at Converse (headquartered in Boston), handling internal communications for the global brand. He plans a move to Boston’s North End.

    Jennifer Freeman completed graduate school at Lynn University and moved to Florida to work for the NHL’s Florida Panthers.

    After a year as a recruiter, Joseph Gately is a corporate recruiting trainer for a leading medical staffing company, heading up a redesign effort for the company’s training website.

    Melissa Leonard volunteered at the Be Like Brit orphanage in Grand Goâve, Haiti, where a group of volunteers lived and worked with children and built a house for a Haitian family. Melissa returned to the Haitian orphanage for a second stint this past summer.

    Patrick Leung, who recently traveled to Canada, marked his one-year anniversary as digital media associate at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, where he has helped create and manage digital promotions for The Lawn on D in South Boston, as well as helping run Art on the Marquee receptions for local artists.

    Kathryn Lynch G’14 was named Southern Connecticut State University’s women’s basketball head coach.

    Justin Miller is currently an executive producer for two Top 40 radio stations in upstate New York, and tells Class Notes he “values my Lasell education for preparing me for my career.”

    After a year of service through AmeriCorps as the VISTA volunteer to Northern Essex Community College, Kevin Moloney is a Student Services staff assistant at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He recently traveled to Kilarney, Ireland, where he met many long-lost family members.

    After a year as an intern, Syracuse University created a new position to hire Alexander Parent as a full-time operations and game management assistant. Alexander serves as game-day administrator for the school’s volleyball, women’s and men’s soccer, field hockey, women’s ice hockey, tennis and softball teams and assists with daily operations of the Manley Field House and Lampe Athletics Complex.

    Martha Powell is a full-time member of the creative costuming department at Walt Disney World, where she is part of the “Audio Animatronics Ride” crew and is helping to create magic for the refurbishment of Disney’s famed “Pirates of the Caribbean” ride.

    Samantha Ross recently received an MBA in management from Iona College. A Second Step mentor and Relay for Life participant as a Lasell undergrad, Samantha joined 30 other college-age people on a 4,000-mile run from San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge in June 2014 to Central Park in New York City in August 2015 to “unite communities and inspire hope towards the eradication of cancer.”

    Bridget Ryan is employed at Tibi, a high-end contemporary fashion label located in New York City’s Soho neighborhood, where she works in the company’s showroom and office as the sales assistant to the vice president of wholesale and the sales director.

    After graduating, Alexander Steblovskiy continued his Lasell internship, which became a full-time senior level position at Mage, LLC. He is currently director of marketing and sales and an executive director of Radio Entrepreneurs, an internet radio station. On the Rugby team at Lasell, Alex now plays with the semi-pro Boston 13’s and recently vacationed in the Bahamas, signaling his “first time out of the US since arriving from Russia in 2000!”

    Evelyn Garcia ’03/G’14 writes that she is “very proud of my daughter Jazmin Nicole Brito’s graduating from UMass Amherst with a degree in communications.”

    2014: Class Secretary: Shannon Pasco

    Denise Archetto of Waltham, MA, was a public relations intern at Bay State Games and recently began a communications internship at Harvard University. She is pursuing an M.Ed. in athletic administration at Endicott College.

    Jacquelyn Farrington has participated in three runway events to showcase her senior collection, Conquered. She was the featured designer at MergeArts NYC. At Creative’s Corner in NYC, she debuted her fashion brand, Q by Jacquelyn Farrington, and she showed an extended version of her collection at Atlantic City Fashion Week in October.

    Emily Gagne is an assistant property manager for attorney James T. Marasco. She lives in Pawtucket, RI and is pursuing an online MFA in media design with Full Sail University.

    Heather Johnson lives in Allston, MA and is a marketing coordinator for the YMCA of Greater Boston.

    Ashley Medeiros is an account associate at Next Step Communications in Dedham, MA and lives in Brighton, MA.

    Christina Nalepa is pursuing a master’s degree in public relations and stakeholder communications at Emerson College.

    Shannon Pasco returned from Zhenzhen, China, where she was the event coordinator for the MIT Asia Conference in Accounting.

    Brianna Robbins is Malden Catholic High School’s constituent relations associate. In that capacity, she traveled to Notre Dame University to participate in a professional conference. She lives in Waltham with fellow Lasell alums.

    Jamie Trevino is the catering and retail manager with Sodexo at Lasell College and lives in Everett, MA.
