Major: Communications with a concentration in Public Relations

Why did you choose your major at Lasell?
I chose this major because I felt like it was one that matched my personality and would help me to strive later in my career. I hope that I can possibly work with a non-profit as their public relations person or on their social media team to attract more help for the non-profit.

What was it that brought you to Lasell?
I was being recruited for volleyball up and down the east coast, and when I noticed that Lasell not only had a communications program, but a variety of concentrations for me to get involved in, I knew it was the perfect fit. I wasn't exactly sure at first what I wanted to do with a communications degree, so coming to Lasell which gave me so many options was a huge relief.

What activities are you involved in or have been involved in (clubs, activities, athletics, etc.)?
I just recently finished my third season on the women's volleyball team and this past season I was a captain. Last year I was the men's volleyball team's manager, and I have now been working with the Blue Key Society in Admissions for two years now, giving tours to prospective students. I have also been apart of the Honors Society here at Lasell for three years now.

Favorite class you have taken at Lasell and why?
I have really enjoyed all the honors classes that I have been a part of. Last semester my professor was Jesse Tauriac and we discussed discrimination. This semester my professor is Denny Frey and we are talking about terrorism and torture. All the classes have been really enlightening and have allowed me to make close connections with the students and professors involved.

What do you like to do off campus or in Boston?
I love going into Boston for shows and sporting events. Just recently I went to "Improv Boston" and met up with my friend from home and we both watched her parents, Rick and Laura Hall (from Whose Line is it Anyway), perform. I also just recently went into Boston to watch "Drunk Shakespeare" and to attend a non-profit event in South Boston.

Do you have an interesting story or great memory from Lasell that you would be willing to share?
My freshman year when it snowed for the very first time, I absolutely freaked out. My roommate and I were in the car coming from a Chipotle run and we both noticed that it had started to snow. I was literally out of the car window trying to catch the snow-flakes on my tongue, like a child. #californiaproblems
