Major: Accounting

Why did you choose your major at Lasell?
There are only a few schools which have accounting major without a combination with any other majors, such as finance major or economic major, and Lasell is the one of these schools. Since I could focus solely on studying accounting, I can be an auditor with CPA license after graduating.

What was it that brought you to Lasell, particularly in regard to your major?
I really wanted to focus on studying accounting, and I found out that the size of this school helps me to do that. Yay Accounting major!

What activities are you involved in or have been involved in (clubs, activities, athletics, etc.)?
This year I am the Office Assistant in the Office of International Services and I am also one of the mentors in the International Welcome Program. It's important for me to help people feel welcome to Lasell.

Any internship you may have done?
I did an internship at KPMG in New York office as an auditor in the summer of 2017.

Favorite class you have taken at Lasell and why?
My favorite class was Audit Class because the content of the class could apply to my internship. What I learned in the class helped me to have a wonderful internship experience. Also, Accounting Information System class taught me the useful knowledge of Microsoft Excel in the accounting field. During my internship, that applied to my work and that was really helpful and useful. My knowledge was more advanced than the other interns.

What do you like to do off campus or in Boston?
I love going to Boston to walk around, to shop, to eat, and to have fun. I love the atmosphere that Boston has because it is very different from Tokyo where I grew up.

Do you have an interesting story or great memory from Lasell that you would be willing to share?
The best reason that I chose to come to Lasell college is the size of this college. As an international student, it is a little hard to get involved in school. The small size of Lasell College and classes made me be able to live on campus, to be involved in any events which happen on campus, to make many friends, to make close connections with professors and staff, and to focus on study because of the amazing facilities. I could commit to this college and achieve my goal.

I made good friends who I can say that they are my best friends!
I never feel alone at Lasell even though I am away from my home, Tokyo!
I learned how to ask for help because people at Lasell had never said "No" to help me.
I have been through many things as an international student and I could apply my experience to help out the other international students through a position as the Office of International Services assistant.
I would like to say that I had a great education at Lasell enough to figure out what I want to be after graduating, and now I am on the way to my goal.
