Hannah Rich

Hometown: Milford, Massachusetts
Major: English, with a concentration in Creative Writing
Why did you choose your major at Lasell?
I want to be a YA novelist, and I know that you don't have to go to college to be an author, but I also just wanted the college experience, as well as to get better at writing.
What was it that brought you to Lasell?
I heard that the Humanities Department, where my major is located, is really great, and that was a deciding factor in my choosing to come here.
What activities are you involved in or have been involved in (clubs, activities, athletics, etc.)?
I am an active participant in both the Chorus and Drama Clubs. Just this past November I played Pig #3 in Shrek: The Musical.
Favorite class you have taken at Lasell and why?
Honestly, Chorus. Even though you don't have to take the class to be in the choir, and it's only one credit, the director is really great at what she does and it's with an awesome group of people who are passionate about singing, and singing well.
What do you like to do off campus or in Boston?
I don't actually go into the city that often, but when I do it's to shop or see a show with friends.
Do you have an interesting story or great memory from Lasell that you would be willing to share?
I will say that being in the Drama Club has been an amazing experience and I can't wait for the spring show. I think that last year, when we did Heathers the Musical, was a pretty great memory. I remember one night the audience was so packed we had people sitting up in the light booth! Rehearsal is actually so different from a performance, because you finally have an audience that can see how hard you've worked to put on a great show and give them an hour and a half or two hour break from whatever's going on in their life. You just get to entertain them, and it's a feeling like nothing else.
