Lasell University COVID-19 Dashboard

Lasell University COVID-19 Dashboard

The information in the dashboard below encompasses COVID-19 testing of Lasell students, faculty and staff. Testing began on August 20, 2020 and will continue throughout the Fall semester. The University has instituted health and safety protocols to keep members of our community as safe as possible.

Test reporting is exclusively for tests conducted by Lasell Health Services/Broad Institute.

This dashboard presents metrics of regular, mandatory, repeated screening of all students, staff, and faculty with an on-campus presence this Fall, and are not derived from individuals who solely undergo symptom-based testing.

Glossary:

Number of Tests: Total number of tests performed on the date indicated

Positive Tests: The number of positive test results. A positive test result means the SARS-CoV-2 virus was detected in an individual’s test sample. Other test results include negative (most common) or invalid (see below).

% Positive: The ratio of the number of positive test results for a given day to the total number of tests performed on that day.

Invalid Tests: Tests in which the sample was either inconclusive or not reported due to other issues, such as an individual not performing the swab correctly.

Number of Tests (Cumulative): Sum of tests to date since August 20, 2020.

Positive Tests (Cumulative): Sum of positive tests to date since August 20, 2020.

Cumulative % Positive: The ratio of cumulative total positive tests to cumulative total tests

% Positive 7-Day Moving Average: The percent positive (ratio of positive to total tests on a given day), averaged across the last 7 days. This value allows for better visualization of trends.

Quarantine: The number of individuals in quarantine on campus as a result of close contact with a positive case. This number does not include individuals quarantining at home. Current guidelines indicate quarantine is a period of at least 14 days. Quarantine is the separation of a person who has been exposed to someone with COVID-19 from people who have not been exposed.

Isolation: The number of individuals in isolation on campus as a result of a positive COVID-19 test. This number does not include individuals isolating at home. Current guidelines indicate isolation is a period of at least 10 days. Isolation is the separation of people who have tested positive to COVID-19 from people who do not have COVID-19.

Hospitalized: The number of individuals hospitalized. Individuals are not required to report hospitalization to Health Services. This value may not represent the true number of hospitalizations of Lasell-affiliated individuals.

Recovered Cases: Individuals who have recovered from COVID-19 and are out of isolation after testing positive.

Median (min, max) Turnaround Time: The median number of hours (including the minimum and the maximum number of hours in parentheses) between the time of sample collection and the time the test result becomes available. This number includes the processing time at the Broad Institute, but is not solely a processing time metric, as all tests are delivered to the Broad Institute between 5pm and 8pm daily, where as sample collection occurs between 7:30am and 4:30pm daily.

Average Daily % Positive: The running average of the daily percent positive rate.

% Positive 7-Day Moving Average: The running 7-day average of the daily percent positive rate. This value allows for visualization of recent trends in positive cases relative to the total population sampled.
