“My professors were great at communicating. If I misinterpreted something, I had a direct line to my professor and could get feedback and clarification quickly if we weren’t in a live lecture,” said Tyler.
“My instructor always asked if we needed extra time to practice and stayed late on his own time. This help me with technical skills, like proper draping and protecting your hands to avoid contamination. All of this makes you more efficient and confident on the job.”
Supportive faculty were just one benefit. “The accelerated pace prepared me for surgery. The OR is fast-paced – and fast-paced learning helped me adapt. Also, studying various procedures and anatomy helped me anticipate surgical needs and positioning, which gave me so much more confidence.”
