What was one of your most meaningful experiences?
My most meaningful experience was when I took a trip to Moreton Island, which is the third largest sand island in the world. The different shades of blue of the sea you were able to see were unreal. My friend and I booked it very last minute not knowing what we were really getting ourselves into. At our hostel, we had no service so it was a way to connect with nature and detox from the constant need for technology and social media. We played card games for hours and talked to people from Spain and Brazil and learned about their culture. It was so refreshing to take a break and just live in the moment for once.

Why should Lasell students study abroad?
Studying abroad is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity that allows you to travel, but still attend school. It will be the best four months of your life. You will meet some of the best people and create some of the best memories that you will have with you forever. You will grow as a person and discover things about yourself you never knew before. It's an opportunity that not everyone gets and Lasell does their best to help make it happen for their students.

What is your number one piece of advice for students studying abroad?
My number one piece of advice for students studying abroad is to not stress too much about money. Studying abroad is not cheap, but money shouldn't prevent you from having fun. It's okay to say no to trips that your friends are going on so you can make sure to go to the places you want to go to. Do your best to budget before you leave. The earlier you start saving for going abroad the better it will be and the less you will worry.

What is a typical day in the life when studying abroad?
A typical day would start with me getting breakfast aka brekkie at Lakeside and then attend my classes for the day. You don't get as much homework in Australia so if I didn't have any I would go out and explore or sit by the lake at school. If it was a Tuesday, my friends and I would go to a nearby Brew house to get half-priced wings because who doesn't love a good deal on food? If it was a weekend, I would be at the beach which is only 20 minutes away or traveling the beautiful country.
