What was one of your most meaningful experiences?
One of my most meaningful experiences while on study abroad happened at the very end of my semester. I traveled to Rome prior to flying home. Rome was a city I had always wanted to see, and I finally had chance to go see it. While visiting the Colosseum, I had a moment where I realized that I had written a research paper in high school about the Colosseum and ancient Rome. I then quickly realized that while in Europe I was fortunate enough to visit several world famous monuments throughout my travels. I was able to see things that are older than the USA and something similar to them would never be found in the USA.

Why should Lasell students study abroad?
Lasell students should go out and study abroad because it it's their chance to go out and see the world. Studying abroad is a chance for Lasell students to learn about new cultures, try new things, and meet new people. While abroad I learned so much about British culture and other cultures in Europe. I was able to meet some great people as well, not just people in my program, but every where I went I met a local who was incredibly friendly, and it made my experience that much better. You realize that there is a world outside of the USA, and I think all Lasell students should consider studying abroad.

What is your number one piece of advice for students studying abroad?
Brace yourself. There will be a culture shock when you first arrive to your new city. Allow yourself some time to adjust to your new surroundings. Studying abroad will knock you out of your comfort zone, but when you do adjust you will absolutely love it. Be as friendly as you can, and don't be afraid to make new friends. I was able to meet some people who I still keep in touch with while I was abroad. It's an adjustment, but once you adjust you will love it.

What is a typical day in the life when studying abroad?
I would wake up bright and early for a run in Kensington Gardens which was right down the street from my house in London. I would then go to breakfast followed by class. I would end my day by either working on homework to going out and exploring London.
