Giant's Causeway

November 28, 2019

Today was amazing! We started the day with a group breakfast at the hotel, which was a great way to kick off Thanksgiving away from home. Then we headed out for a 9-hour bus tour that started in the Belfast City Center. Our first stop was a beautiful castle where we stopped and took pictures. After a second stop (a "comfort stop") at a beautiful fishing town where Game of Thrones was filmed on location, we made it to the Giant's causeway!

According to legend, a giant, Finn McCool, built the entire thing as a bridge to Scotland. The Irish Myth can be found if you follow this link:

We walked across immaculate, hexagonal rocks overlooking the water. We then got back on the bus for our last two stops: a scary rope bridge over two giant cliffs, Carrick a Rede Bridge, and Old Bushmill Whiskey distillery.

Along the costal route to the Giant's Causeway it was so cool driving past hundreds of spray-painted sheep! Overall, it was a very long day but we had some great sightseeing and made friends with the tour guide. We finished our day with a nice thanksgiving dinner at the Henry's Jail House.
