Professor Paul DeBole has a B.A. in History from Suffolk University and a J.D. from the New England School of Law. Prior to teaching at Lasell College, he taught Political Science at Bentley University, Suffolk University, and Emerson College. In the past, he has worked for the City of Boston, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, and as a campaign aide to Senators John McCain and Lamar Alexander. Currently, he is a consultant to several state and federal agencies.

What do you like about teaching at Lasell?

“Lasell College is a great school and a wonderful place at which to teach. My colleagues and coworkers are extremely supportive, especially when trying to implement new courses and materials into the classroom. But the nicest thing about teaching at Lasell is the number of students that come back to you after graduation and try to reestablish contact. Sometimes it is for a recommendation to graduate school, sometimes it is for career advice, and sometimes it is just to say hello. That is the time when you realize how much of an impact you have had on their lives… you first see them as these timid freshmen and all of a sudden they are mature men and women doing wonderful things with their lives. It is an amazing and very satisfying feeling.”
