Student Health Services

The services provided by the staff of the Health Center are available to both resident and commuter students.

Health Center

The Health Center is staffed by nurse practitioners, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A physician is also available at designated hours. When the Health Center is closed, and non-emergency medical care is needed (i.e. sore throat, stitches, work-related injury, cough and other minor illnesses), students may go to the Newton-Wellesley-Waltham Urgent Care Center located on 9 Hope Ave in Waltham (781-893-7000). The Urgent Care Center is open 7 days a week, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

For medical emergencies please call Campus Police at 617-243-2279.  Emergency medical services are available at Newton Wellesley Hospital.

The professionals who work in the Health Center are committed to providing episodic care (which may include medical evaluations, acute illness treatment, gynecologic care, nutritional counseling, allergy shots, immunizations, prescriptions for medications, referrals to outside medical specialists,) as well as providing education to the campus community to promote healthy attitudes and behaviors. 

There is no charge for Health Center visits; however, each student will be responsible for any laboratory tests and prescription costs.

A complete medical history, with physical exam, and record of immunization is required for all students.  Massachusetts law requires that all full-time students have documentation of being immunized against Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Tetanus, Meningitis, and Hepatitis B.  Massachusetts law also requires that all students have comprehensive health and accident insurance. In compliance with federal HIPPA guidelines all visits are confidential.
