The Brennan Library at Lasell College is designed to meet the academic needs of students and faculty. It provides access to a wide range of books, journals, periodicals, and other material in print, online, and other formats. The collection is especially strong in fashion, education, and allied health. The facility includes two large group study rooms, a curriculum library for the education students, 41 computer workstations in the library, comfortable spaces for study, and an electronic classroom for teaching students how to use electronic resources.
Brennan Library contains an exceptional and varied collection. In-house we hold 56,500 volumes and we share resources with 41 libraries, including 6 academic libraries as a member of the Minuteman Library Network (MLN) and the Massachusetts Metrowest Regional Library System. MLN provides our students access to more than five million items, from their dorm rooms or in the library. Material requested from one of the 41 libraries is delivered within 48 hours of a request.
We also have more than 57 electronic databases that include 32,492 full-text journals. For example:
- American Psychological Abstracts -premier database of sociology and psychology
- Lexis-Nexis- major database for the business and legal studies students
- First Search which includes World Cat- holding over 30 million titles.
The library building also houses the President’s Office, the Stoller Room, the Kyo Yamawaki Education Library, the Rafferty Shoemaker Learning Center, the Brightman Rosen Auditorium, the Carole Myers Lowe Academic Computer (PC) Lab and the Doran Mac Lab.
