Unique Learning at Lasell College

The senior class of the Fashion program showcased their work to a packed house for the annual fashion show. This year’s theme was “Runway 2008” and was the culmination of a year long thesis project in which Fashion students worked closely with faculty members. Students worked tirelessly on creating a theme for their collection and designs included names such as, “Color Me Fabulous”, “Eco-Vibe”, “Clever Casual”, and “Legacy”, among many others. In total 31 seniors presented their collections, each with approximately 8 pieces. The collections ran the gamut from conventional to courageous, over the top to refined subtlety, and totally covered to barely there.

The show was opened by Chair of the Fashion program, Richard Bath, welcoming the crowd, explaining the events, and praising the students for their hard work. The runway was flanked by two projection screens displaying the show from the several cameras surrounding the room. Bath explained that each senior had chosen his or her own direction and vision for their line, from the music, the models, the hair and makeup.

You can read the Senior Collection program and there was also an underclassman Fashion show the night before, you can view that program here. Interested in reading POLISHED Magazine? View it at polishedfashion.com.
