Parents Fund Committee

This program serves to raise Annual Fund dollars through philanthropic donations from parents of current students at Lasell College.

The Parents Fund Committee is a subcommittee of the Parents Connection Committee and works with the Office of Annual Giving to assist with fundraising efforts on Leadership Annual Giving ($1,000 - $25,000+) among parents at Lasell College.

In this regard, members of the Parents Fund Committee will:

  • Be briefed on the specifics of the College’s current and future program plans, and be provided appropriate background material so as to speak to the priorities of the College with other families
  • Be encouraged to make Lasell a philanthropic priority by making a leadership gift to the Lasell Parents Fund for unrestricted support of the College
  • To become conversant with the range of Lasell’s student programs
  • Serve as ambassadors and advocates for the College, including attendance at special events such as the parents Welcome Reception; Family, Friends, and Alumni Weekend; a Parents Reception at the Spring Connected Learning Symposium, and Parents Donor Reception during the Spring Fashion Show program, if available;
  • To assist in the identification, cultivation, and as appropriate, solicitation of parents for Leadership Annual Giving;
  • To solicit Parents Fund gifts, as appropriate, by mail, telephone, or in personal visits supported by staff, as needed;
  • To attend a small number of scheduled meetings or conference calls of the Parents Connection Committee. Not to exceed 3 during an academic year.

Pioneer in Community-Based Learning, Nadinne Cruz, Named Donahue Scholar  Wednesday, October 1, 2014Nadinne Cruz, a pioneering leader in community-based learning, will deliver the Distinguished Donahue Scholar lecture on October 7 at 2 pm in de Witt Hall. Her talk, titled "Education to Change the World: A Call to Engagement by a Loyal Critic of Service," will touch upon her years of work in experiential education.
