Woody Guthrie Exhibit Opens at Lasell Honoring Artist's 100th Anniversary

September 5, 2012

Marking the 100th anniversary of folk artist Woody Guthrie, the Wedeman Gallery at Lasell College is hosting a special exhibit, "This Land Was Made for You and Me," featuring photographs and lyrics on loan from the Woody Guthrie Archives in New York. The exhibit is open through October 6.

The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, also integrates works by Lasell College students that show what they believe is uniquely American.

Acoustic artists Lorraine and Bennett Hammond will perform in a musican jam session celebrating Guthrie's musical contributions on October 4th from 7-9 pm. All are welcome to bring instruments and join in.

The Wedeman Gallery, located at Lasell's Yamawaki Art and Cultural Center, is open most Tuesdays - Saturdays from 1-4 pm. For more information and a gallery schedule call 617-243-2143.
