Wedeman Gallery Hosts Exhibit from South Vietnamese Artist Le Lam

September 22, 2015

For nearly ten years in the late 60s and early 70s Hanoi artist Le Lam risked his life in South Vietnam recording in paint the war that raged around him. This work will be on exhibit through October 3 at Lasell's Wedeman Gallery.

Sketches from the South by Le Lam contains one hundred of the thousands of striking sketches and paintings he made between 1966 - 1975.

The exhibit will be open at the galley, located at the Yamawaki Art and Cultural Center at 47 Myrtle St. in Newton, from Tuesday through Saturday between 1 - 4 pm through October 3. The exhibit is curated by David Thomas, artist and founder of the Indochina Arts Partnership of Wellesley, MA. The partnership is a nonprofit organization with the goal to promote reconciliation between the United States and the countries of Indochina through cultural and educational exchanges.
