Seniors, Undergrads Participate in Torchlight Parade Tonight

May 05, 2015

Lasell College's Annual Torchlight Parade, a Lasell tradition dating back over 100 years, features graduating seniors marching with lit torches through campus, then symbolically passing class leadership and their torches to rising seniors. The parade begins at Central parking lot at 8 pm May 5th and culminates at the College's Crow's Nest where seniors give farewell speeches to undergraduates in the crowd.

The Crow's Nest, a wooden structure and platform, has long been the site for Senior end-of the year activities at Lasell. At the Crow's Nest, graduating students gave farewell speeches and handed their torches to underclassman in a gesture that symbolizes the passing of experience and knowledge to a new generation.
