Lasell Women's Soccer Standouts Named to Academic All-District Team

October 31, 2014

Lasell College women's soccer seniors Bridget Lynch and Kayla Lynch were both named to the New England Region First Team, which makes them eligible for national Academic All-American honors. This is the first time in Lasell's history that two players have been named to this Academic All-American team.

The Lynch twins were among 11 members named to the Academic All-Region team from New England; their selection makes Lasell the only school in New England to have more than one player named to the squad.

The duo both major in Exercise Science with Kayla boasting a 3.97 cumulative grade point average and Bridget with a 3.91 mark for her career. Bridget, a forward, leads the team with 27 goals scored in 18 appearances on the season. Kayla, who has played a large portion of the year as a defensive midfielder, ranks third on the team in goals with four and fourth on the team in points with 10 in 17 matches played.

The twins are now eligible in the voting process for Academic All-American honors which takes place in November. Student-athletes must carry a 3.30 grade point average and be a significant contributor to their team in order to be eligible for nomination.
