Lasell Students Model Designer Gowns for Yolanda Gala

November 14, 2014

Lasell students will be at the center of one of this weekend's most sought-after events as they model gowns from the private collection of local fashion icon Yolanda Cellucci - for her 80th Birthday gala.

Yolanda Cellucci, known for the glitzy, designer fashions she sold at her boutique in Waltham for several decades, will celebrate her 80th birthday at a gala event on November 15.

As part of an event fundraiser, eight Lasell students will model gowns from Yolanda's private collection for a live auction with proceeds from the dress sales going to Lasell College, according to Lasell Fashion Professor Anne Vallely.

Proceeds from other fundraising activities will go toward four local charities hand-picked by Yolanda including Waltham Boys & Girls Club, Marist Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston, and Waltham Rotary Club.

Modeling the gowns, which include designs from Monique LHuillier and others, are freshman Abbey Moran, sophomores Molly Cavanaugh, Danielle Sojka, seniors Nicole Clancy, Emily Contrada, Rachel Kiessling, Emma Landegren, and Julianna Robison.

The sold-out gala will be held at Dassault Systemes in Waltham and hosted by radio personality Candy O'Terry with entertainment from comedian Lenny Clarke; entertainer Verna Turbulence; entertainer Joey Canzano, and the auctioneer is TV personality Susan Wornick.
