Lasell Students Discuss Importance of Financial Aid at State House

February 24, 2014

Lasell students took part in the annual Student Financial Aid Day event at the Massachusetts State House Monday, which provides an opportunity for undergraduates to talk about the need and importance of financial aid with state leaders.

Students from colleges and universities across the state attend the event where they have a chance to visit with their hometown Senators and Representatives. Lasell students Meghan Doble from Natick, Tiana Allen from Brockton/Hyde Park and Caylynn Fauntleroy from Jamaica Plain heard from Speaker of the House Robert DeLeo and later had a chance to meet with their Newton Representatives Cynthia Creem and Kay Khan.

"I think even though we had a small group, it was a success and the students learned something of value from the event. Each really felt like they got to tell their story," said Brittany Baker, a Student Financial Planning Counselor at Lasell who accompanied the students to the State House.

President Alexander Responds to the Tragedy in Orlando  Thursday, June 16, 2016We the people of the United States cherish our freedoms. Whether it be the freedom to say what we want, to assemble in groups of our choosing, to follow the religions of our choice, to vote as our conscience demands, to own and carry weapons, to start new businesses and make money, and to move about as we please -- these are values we hold dear and are reluctant to compromise.
