The event was the organization's major fundraiser for the year, drawing around 1,000 attendees. Aid for Cancer Research, now in its 62nd year, is an all-volunteer area organization that has raised millions to support vital cancer research programs and medical grants.

The fashion show featured several original designs from Lasell fashion students.

"We are thrilled to have Lasell College involved in this, our signature fundraising event. Lasell College's participation in this event is critical to our mission to fund much-needed research into the causes of and cures for cancer," said Susan Kohen, President of Aid for Cancer Research.

The Masters of Ceremonies for the fashion show and fundraiser will be Aid for Cancer Research members Joan Hayes of Newton and Nancy Sheffres of Wayland. Many members of the Lasell community attended the luncheon.

Aid for Cancer Research comprises a group of 25 women volunteers from the Greater Boston area. The organization channels its funds through a volunteer Medical Advisory Board of Boston-area physicians who evaluate requests for research grants and equipment and make recommendations for the most effective use and application of the group's resources.
