Lasell Student Creates Service Video for City of Newton

May 2, 2013

Lasell Communications student Justin Miller recently completed a documentary-style video for the City of Newton called "The College Experience" that will be shown to local high school students.

Miller '14 was asked by the Mayor's Office in the City of Newton to produce a documentary video to encourage high school students to consider going to college.

Miller interviewed students at Lasell, Boston College, Mt. Ida, Newton North High School and Newton South High School for the video over the course of several weeks.

Communications Professor Brian Wardyga supervised the project, which supports the College's Connected Learning education philosophy through which students practice the work of their field both inside and outside of the classroom.

"This project took several months to produce and Justin did a terrific job. This is "connected learning" at its best," said Lasell's Vice President for Communications, Community and Government Relations Ruth Shuman.

President Alexander Responds to the Tragedy in Orlando  Thursday, June 16, 2016We the people of the United States cherish our freedoms. Whether it be the freedom to say what we want, to assemble in groups of our choosing, to follow the religions of our choice, to vote as our conscience demands, to own and carry weapons, to start new businesses and make money, and to move about as we please -- these are values we hold dear and are reluctant to compromise.
