Lasell Spring Symposium Begins

April 27, 2015

The Spring Symposium showcase of student work begins this week with a variety of presentations, mock trials, concerts and graphic art displays, offering a glimpse into the College's Connected Learning philosophy of work both inside and outside the classroom.

On Tuesday April 28, a full-day showcase begins with a rotating electronic poster display of research projects ranging from Quantifying Ecosystem Services to presentations about Contemporary Issues in Bioethics. Simultaneously, students will serve as defense and prosecution in a mock trial, athletic training students will diagnose real patient injuries in an orthopedic clinic and the College chorus will perform.

A full schedule can be viewed online.

In addition to student presentations, the week also serves as the final showcase of senior work that culminates with several award ceremonies including the Studio Arts Recognition Awards, Graphic Design Senior Show, the Diane Donatio and Ruth Braun Writing Awards.

The Spring Symposium Concert takes place on the evening of Tuesday April 28, featuring student musicians from the R & B Band, Chorus and Preforming Arts Class. The week concludes with two fashion shows: Runway 2015 featuring undergraduate fashion designs on Friday, May 1 and the Senior Collections Show on Saturday May 2.
