Lasell Senior Women's Soccer Player Named Academic All-American for the First Time in College's History

November 25, 2014

Senior Bridget Lynch of Dover, N.H. has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Team for her outstanding 2014 academic and athletic performance. This marks the first time in Lasell College history that a Laser has been awarded this honor, as Lynch serves as the lone New England representative on the Division III First Team for women's soccer.

Both Bridget, along with her twin sister and Lasell soccer teammate Kayla, were recognized by the College Sports Information Directors of America in October with Academic All-District honors for their 2014 season and academic success.

"They have represented themselves, their family and Lasell at the highest levels in both areas. I have enjoyed watching them play and marveled at their growth, performance and achievements. They have displayed the qualities of true leaders in the classroom, in the laboratory and on the soccer pitch," said Lasell President Michael B. Alexander.

Bridget, with a 3.91 GPA, holds the school record for goals, assists, and total points in both season and career. In this year's post-season tournament, she added six goals and dished out five assists to steer the Lasers to their fifth consecutive GNAC Championship. Over the past three years, she has been in the top five for goals and points in both the GNAC and the NCAA. She is currently ranked 5th in the nation for points in the 2014 season.
