Lasell College Ranked Among Best Colleges by U.S. News and World Report for 2011
September 29, 2010
Lasell College has been ranked as a "Best Regional College" and in the "Great Schools at Great Prices" category for 2011 by the national publication U.S. News and World Report.
The national publication ranked Lasell College 9th for the "Great Schools at Great Prices" category and 25th for "Best Regional College" - North.
In 1983, U.S. News and World Report began its annual rankings of American colleges and universities. Data is collected and tabulated on each participating school for up to 16 indicators of academic quality including peer review, student selectivity, faculty resources, retention. Then colleges are ranked in their category by their total weighted score.
For the Best Values rankings, only those schools ranked in, or near, the top half of their Best Colleges 2011 edition ranking categories-National Universities, National Liberal Arts, Regional Colleges, and Regional Universities-were considered. The Best Values rankings were based on these three variables: ratio of quality to price, percentage of all undergraduates receiving need-based scholarships or grants during the 2009-2010 academic year, and percentage of a school's 2009-2010 total costs (tuition, room and board, fees, books, and other expenses) covered by the 2009-2010 academic year average need-based scholarship or grant to undergraduates.
