Lasell College has been ranked as a "Best Regional College" in the North Region for 2013 by the national publication U.S. News and World Report.

The national publication ranked Lasell College 25th for "Best Regional College" - North.

In 1983, U.S. News and World Report began its annual rankings of American colleges and universities. Then colleges are ranked in their category by their total weighted score.

Regional Colleges (defined by the Carnegie Foundation as Baccalaureate Colleges-Diverse; Baccalaureate/Associate Colleges; Associate's-Public 4-year, Primarily Associate's; Associate's-Private Not-for-profit 4-year, Primarily Associate's; and Associate's-Private For-profit 4-year, Primarily Associate's) focus primarily on undergraduate education, just as the liberal arts colleges do, but grant fewer than 50 percent of their degrees in liberal arts disciplines.

This year the publication ranked 1,391 colleges and universities following an analysis of surveys and statistical informaiton collected over the spring and summer of 2012.
