Lasell Ranked 25th by U.S News and World Report for Best Regional Colleges

November 4, 2013

Lasell College has been ranked as a "Best Regional College" in the North Region for 2014 by U.S News and World Report. Lasell was ranked 25th this year.

This year's annual ranking of the Regional Colleges -- North included 62 schools. Schools ranked in the Regional Colleges list focus on undergraduate education but grant fewer than half their degrees in liberal arts disciplines.

In 1983, U.S. News and World Report began its annual rankings of American colleges and universities. Data is collected and tabulated on each participating school for up to 16 indicators of academic quality including peer review, student selectivity, faculty resources, retention. Then colleges are ranked in their category by their total weighted score.

Indicators used to measure academic quality fall into seven broad areas: peer assessment; retention and graduation of students; faculty resources; student selectivity; financial resources; alumni giving; and graduation rate performance, the difference between the proportion of students expected to graduate and the proportion who do.
