Lasell Professor’s Art Work on Display

February 13, 2012

Lasell art professor Margo Lemieux will showcase several original pieces at a multi-artist exhibit called "Close to Home: Artists Who Make Books" at the South Shore Art Center. She is among 12 other artists whose work will be featured from February 17 - March 25, 2012.

Lemieux's work consists of three artist books, two mixed media drawings and one creative photograph. One of the books consists of a replica of the ancient pyramid at Giza, as well as a section from Lemieux's father's journal from 1932 when he traveled through Egypt.

Another is a "tunnel" book depicting the various wildlife that visited her backyard while a third book rotates its pages once an hour. The two drawings are tone transfer and charcoal that were inspired by her family album.

The opening reception at the art center in Cohasset will be held February 17, 2012 from 6 - 8 pm and is open to the Lasell community.

The South Shore Art Center is located on 119 Ripley Road in Cohasset, MA. Information about the exhibit and the Art Center is available online.
