Lasell Joins "It’s On Us" Campaign with Student Produced Video

April 30, 2015

Lasell joined the national It's On Us anti-sexual violence campaign this week when students released a video produced as part of a class project at the Spring Academic Symposium.

Launched by President Barack Obama last fall, the It's On Us campaign asks colleges to pledge to become a part of the solution to end sexual violence on the nation's college campuses.

Students in Professor Karin Raye's Domestic Violence Advocacy class wrote the script for the video and worked with local filmmaker Felipe Bida to create the project.

The video was on display at the College's Spring Academic Symposium on April 28. It has since been posted to social media outlets including YouTube.

The video features, students, athletes, school administrators, faculty and others all making the pledge to step in and intervene when they witness incidences of sexual violence. The video also provides viewers with on-campus resources for those who see or experience sexual violence.

"I'm so grateful to the Lasell students, administration and faculty for the support they showed for this project. It is a huge community accomplishment. Congrats to my class for a job well done," said Raye.
