Lasell Hosts Massachusetts Gerontology Association Conference

Lasell's RoseMary B. Fuss Center for Research on Aging and Intergenerational Studies hosted the spring Massachusetts Gerontology Association Conference on Friday May 10.

Lasell Professor Joann M. Montepare, MGA President and Director of the RoseMary B. Fuss Center for Intergenerational Studies spoke at the event which was attended by over 80 local researchers, service providers, students, and community members.

The Keynote speaker for the conference was Andrew E. Scharlach, Ph.D., a Professor of Social Welfare at the University of California at Berkley and Director of its Center for the Advanced Study of Aging Services. He discussed 'Age Friendly Communities."

Other speakers included Frank Caro, Ph.D., Emeritus Professor of Gerontology, McCormack Graduate School, UMass Boston; Co-founder, BrooklineCAN and Judith G. Gonyea, Ph.D., Professor and Chair, Social Research Department, School of Social Work, Boston University.
