Lasell College Welcomes Encore Careers Summit

On November 6th Lasell College's RoseMary B. Fuss Center for Research on Aging and Intergenerational Studies and Discovering What's Next will co-host the Encore Careers Summit, drawing national and local experts on encore careers.

The day-long summit will be held in de Witt Hall on the Lasell campus and will feature Pulitzer Prize winning columnist Ellen Goodman as the keynote speaker.

The term encore career describes work in the second half of life that combines continued income, greater meaning and social impact. Encore careers are paid positions, often in public interest fields such as education, the environment, health, government sector, social services and other nonprofits.

Other speakers at the Encore Careers Summit include Professor Barry Bluestone, Judy Goggin and Doug Dickson, as well as Lasell's Fuss Center Director Joann Montepare and Graduate Dean Joan Dolamore. The summit will take place at 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Lasell College Wins NEA Grant to Create Online Fashion Design Catalog  Thursday, May 2, 2013Lasell College President Michael B. Alexander announced today that the College is the recipient of a $20,000 2013 National Endowment for the Arts matching grant to assist in the creation of an online fashion design catalog. The Lasell grant proposal was one of 50 grants funded by the NEA in its Art Works Design category.
