Lasell College Welcomes Encore Careers Summit

November 3, 2010

On November 6th Lasell College's RoseMary B. Fuss Center for Research on Aging and Intergenerational Studies and Discovering What's Next will co-host the Encore Careers Summit, drawing national and local experts on encore careers.

The day-long summit will be held in de Witt Hall on the Lasell campus and will feature Pulitzer Prize winning columnist Ellen Goodman as the keynote speaker.

The term encore career describes work in the second half of life that combines continued income, greater meaning and social impact. Encore careers are paid positions, often in public interest fields such as education, the environment, health, government sector, social services and other nonprofits.

Other speakers at the Encore Careers Summit include Professor Barry Bluestone, Judy Goggin and Doug Dickson, as well as Lasell's Fuss Center Director Joann Montepare and Graduate Dean Joan Dolamore. The summit will take place at 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

President Alexander Responds to the Tragedy in Orlando  Thursday, June 16, 2016We the people of the United States cherish our freedoms. Whether it be the freedom to say what we want, to assemble in groups of our choosing, to follow the religions of our choice, to vote as our conscience demands, to own and carry weapons, to start new businesses and make money, and to move about as we please -- these are values we hold dear and are reluctant to compromise.
