Lasell Fashion Students Honored at French Cultural Center’s La Fashion Soirée

May 2, 2012

Every spring, the team behind Boston Fashion Week focuses on the many students graduating from fashion design programs in the greater Boston area. On April 17, the French Cultural Center hosted a reception celebrating the beginning of the fashion graduate season and showcasing the work of several student designers - including three from Lasell.

The three Lasell students, Amanda Erickson, Megan Coffman, and Lindsay Holcomb, who all participated in the Boston Symphony Orchestra's annual fashion competition Project Debussy, were recognized at the event.  La Fashion Soirée was held on April 17 from 6:30-8:30 pm at the French Cultural Center in Boston.

Guests will enjoy French wine and cheese while viewing the innovative gowns on display from Project Debussy and meeting the up-and-coming designers who participated in the competition.

Executive Director of Boston Fashion Week, Jay Calderin, whose own designs have graced the pages of Vogue, Elle, The Boston Globe, and The Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, spoke about the special focus on student designers during the Spring season.

Members of the Lasell community were invited.

This event was presented with the generous support of Boston Fashion Week, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Fashion Consultant Kathy Benharris.
