Lasell Fashion Alum Sonjia Williams Advances in Project Runway

July 30, 2012

After two episodes of Lifetime Television's hit series Project Runway Season 10, Lasell alum Sonjia Williams '07 remains solidly in the hunt to win the competition.

The first episode of the 10th season, which began on July 19, showed the pack of 16 designers preparing for a runway show in Times Square in New York City. The designers created a look "at home" to bring with them to the show and then designed a companion piece for the Times Square show in 2 days as part of the episode.

During the second episode of the show, designers used unconventional materials - namely items from famed Dylan's Candy Bar in NYC -- to design a garment for judging.

One designer went home after each of the episodes.

So far, the Lasell alum has shown she is a competitor who cares about quality and style and has received praise from the judges for her work.

The third episode of the show airs on the Lifetime Channel Thursday, August 2 at 9 p.m. when the designers will design for "The Emmys."
