Lasell Expands Undergraduate Program Online for Summer

For the first time, beginning this summer, Lasell will offer an online summer term for current undergraduate students. The term begins May 14th and ends June 29th.

Current undergraduates interested in registering for this term should do so when they register for the Fall 2012 semester, between April 2nd - April 9th. Students are encouraged to discuss these options with their academic advisors during Academic Planning Week, March 26th - March 30th.

Financial aid will not be available during the summer term. Each credit for the summer online program will cost $400, a discounted rate. All courses are 3-credits unless otherwise noted.

The courses offered this summer include:
BUSS 209X (1 credit): Computerized Financial Applications (Bruenjes)
ECON 101: Principles of Economics - Micro (Johansson)
HIST 103: World Civilization I (Halecki)
MATH 104: Intermediate Algebra (Farah)
PSYC 101: Introduction to Psychology (Rosenthal)

Internship courses will also be offered during the summer for the first time. All summer internships include a required number of hours working at the Internship site, as determined by each department, and an on-line course.

MANAGEMENT/MARKETING:
BUSS 497X (4 credits): Internship (Iweka)

FASHION:
FASD 305 (3 credits): Internship (Trevenen)
or
FASD 415 (4 credits): Internship (Trevenen)

SPORT MANAGEMENT:
SMGT 407 (4 credits): Internship (Savitz)
or
SMGT 410 (6 credits): Internship (Savitz)

OTHER MAJORS:
IDS 400 (4 credits): Field Experience (Burrows)

IDS 100X (1 credit): Field Assignment Seminar (Burrows)
(This course is available to any Lasell student who needs to earn academic credit for working as an intern during the summer, but will not fulfill an internship requirement in any department)

Lasell College Wins NEA Grant to Create Online Fashion Design Catalog  Thursday, May 2, 2013Lasell College President Michael B. Alexander announced today that the College is the recipient of a $20,000 2013 National Endowment for the Arts matching grant to assist in the creation of an online fashion design catalog. The Lasell grant proposal was one of 50 grants funded by the NEA in its Art Works Design category.
