Lasell Celebrates Earth Day

April 21, 2011

On a windy and sunny Earth Day, Lasell students, faculty and staff gathered at the East/West courtyard to celebrate the planet in a natural way.

Participants had the chance to learn more about the College's sustainability efforts, taste test tap water vs. bottled water, make tied-dyed t-shirts with all natural vegetable dyes, and listen to music provided by Avi Salloway of the band Hey Mama.

"This is a great annual event and we're pleased with the turnout," said Amy Greene, Assistant Director of the Center for Community-Based Learning, who helped organize the event.

Several classes prepared activities for the event. Students accepted donations of CFLs and created an information sheet to hand out, an event management class prepared tie dye, lint clay, and natural products for t-shirt tie-dye, and another group made recycled paper bead bracelets.

The event ran from 12 - 2 pm, April 21.

President Alexander Responds to the Tragedy in Orlando  Thursday, June 16, 2016We the people of the United States cherish our freedoms. Whether it be the freedom to say what we want, to assemble in groups of our choosing, to follow the religions of our choice, to vote as our conscience demands, to own and carry weapons, to start new businesses and make money, and to move about as we please -- these are values we hold dear and are reluctant to compromise.
