Joan Hornig’s Philanthropy is Beautiful® Jewelry Collection to be Displayed at Lasell

September 12, 2011

From Hollywood to Lasell - Joan Hornig's Philanthropy is Beautiful® Jewelry Collection will be displayed in a first-of-its kind exhibit at the Wedeman Gallery from September 22- October 11.

A gala reception to open the exhibit will be held on September 22 from 6:30-8 pm.

With clients such as Eva Mendes and Cameron Diaz, Hornig's collection is both high-profile and yet in sync with Lasell's commitment to design and community involvement, as all proceeds of the collection sales are donated to charity.

A Harvard graduate, Joan Hornig established a foundation to provide funding to charities, and has impacted more than 700 different organizations to date. With over $1 million in donations since its establishment in 2003, Hornig's foundation has reached charities that support the arts, social justice, health, the environment, medical research, animal welfare, and education; all recipients are chosen by her clients.

Hornig's Philanthropy is Beautiful® collection is inspired by her travels and love of art history. It is created with such materials as 18k gold, sterling silver, diamonds, pearls, topaz, and tourmalines. Her creations are sold in Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, and Saks stores in New York and elsewhere.

Enthusiastic about the upcoming exhibit, Lasell College President Michael Alexander believes Lasell and Hornig make an excellent team. "Joan's commitment to ‘doing well by doing good' is closely linked with Lasell's emphasis on community service and social responsibility. We welcome the chance to showcase Joan's beautiful designs and highlight her integrated approach to corporate giving."
