Free Speech the Topic at Presidential Speaker Series

Award-winning author Charles Slack will discuss his recent book, Liberty's First Crisis: Adams, Jefferson and the Misfits Who Saved Free Speech, at a Lasell College Presidential Speaker Series event on Tuesday, November 15.

The event, which is open to the public, is part of the College's continuing speaker series that brings distinguished speakers to campus to discuss timely topics. The event, held at the Hamel Visitor Center, is free but registration is required.

Slack's other titles include Hetty, a biography of Wall Street pioneer Hetty Green; Noble Obsession, about on the life of inventor Charles Goodyear; and Blue Fairways, an American journey based on a trip down the East Coast, one public golf course at a time.

A Harvard alumna, Slack was a newspaper reporter in Tennessee and Virginia before turning to writing and editing full-time. He works in New York City and lives in Connecticut with his family.
