Lasell Professors Melissa Van Hyfte and Dana Janbek are leading a group of Lasell students on the College's first service learning experience in the Amazon region of Brazil this week.

Ecotourism in Brazil is a one week on-the-ground, service-based experience. During their stay, students will take educational trips to learn about the region's ecosystem and visit local communities and non-government organizations that help sustain the economy of the Amazonian locals.

In efforts to communicate their exciting project, students and faculty have taken the time to create a digital travel journal recounting their experiences. Read the posts below from the ecotourism trip to the Amazon rainforest to learn about their nighttime spotting treks, view rainforest pictures, and more! President Alexander Responds to the Tragedy in Orlando  Thursday, June 16, 2016We the people of the United States cherish our freedoms. Whether it be the freedom to say what we want, to assemble in groups of our choosing, to follow the religions of our choice, to vote as our conscience demands, to own and carry weapons, to start new businesses and make money, and to move about as we please -- these are values we hold dear and are reluctant to compromise.
