Fashion Professors to Talk "Downton Abbey" Styles

With the latest installment of the hit PBS TV series "Downton Abbey" about to appear on American TV screens, Lasell Fashion Professors Lynn Blake and Jill Carey will give a talk about the evolving styles of the hit series next week. Blake, chair of the Fashion Department, and Carey, curator of the Lasell Fashion Collection, will speak Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fisher School in Westwood for a special program hosted by the Westwood Historical Society on the "Ladies of Downton Abbey."

The third season of the Downton Abbey series, which begins January 6,  will chronicle social changes of the 1920s, including changes in the way that the ladies of the estate dress.

The Historical Society is located at the Fisher School at 830 High Street in Westwood.

Lasell College Fashion Students Ready to Show their Skills in Runway 2016  Monday, April 25, 2016After a year of sketching, sewing and planning – students have one night to show their talents and highlight their hard work in the annual Runway fashion show. Lasell’s Fashion Department will host its 27th annual runway show this weekend with an Undergraduate Show on April 29 and the Senior Collection Show on April 30. Both events begin at 7pm at the Athletic Center.
