Creative Paths Exhibit Opens at Lasell College
January 30, 2014
This Sunday, February 2, Lasell College will host an opening reception at Wedeman Gallery for the Creative Paths exhibit featuring work from Muskat Studios, a professional lithography studio in Somerville.
This exhibit, which is open to the public, will offer the work of former interns and assistants from Muskat Studios, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Opened in 1993, Muskat studios provides environment and technical expertise for national and regional artists to produce prints and works on paper. Among the artists included in the exhibit are Rachel Bers, Patrick Casey, Rob Charlton, and Ruth Feldman.
Over the past 20 years, Muskat Studios has worked with over 50 assistants, many as interns from fine arts programs at various colleges. This exhibition was created to highlight some of the career paths each of these artists has followed.
On February 12 at 4 pm the gallery will host a related panel discussion at the Lasell's Yamawaki Art and Cultural Center, Room 208. Panelists will discuss their career paths and how students and interns can make a career in the creative arts. Topics discussed at the panel will range from internships, arts degrees, and approaches to a creative, but professional life.
