College, Lasell Village Host Dementia Care Expert, Virtual Tour

Nationally renowned dementia care expert Teepa Snow will offer two seminars designed to educate clinicians and families on how to care with loved ones who suffer from the disease on Wednesday, May 29 at Lasell College.

The seminars, which are sponsored by Senior Helpers and the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, are free and open to the public. 

The first seminar, "Understanding Dementia Care: Successful Interaction Strategies for Health Care Providers" will be held from 9 am to noon. A second seminar "Understanding Dementia Care: Essentials for Your Journey Together" will be held from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.

In addition, Virtual Dementia Tour training, which provides a simulation of dementia created to teach people the physical and mental challenges of living with dementia, will be offered by the non-profit organization Senior Helpers from 2 - 4 pm. The seminar programs will be held at Lasell's de Witt Hall, 80 Maple St., Newton, MA. Registration begins at 8 am. The Virtual Tour will be held at Lasell Village on the second floor of Town Hall.
