College Educates Students During National Alcohol Awareness Week

October 25, 2013

Colleges nationwide participate in a weeklong alcohol awareness program each year to help educate students about the use of substances. Last week Lasell's awareness campaign, called "Don't Go Solo," provided five days of activities sponsored by the Student Affairs staff.

The theme focused on students taking care of each other, looking out for each other and taking responsibility for each other when in the presents of alcohol.

Between October 21-25 Lasell hosted events and games all teaching students the dangers and affects that alcohol can have on the body, as well as ways to be safe when drinking.

Student Affairs Staff and other volunteers ran all games on campus, which included beer goggles & golf carts, four squares, a scavenger hunt and more. In addition, members of the counseling center, residential life, student activities, spiritual life, career services, student affairs and peer health were on hand.

President Alexander Responds to the Tragedy in Orlando  Thursday, June 16, 2016We the people of the United States cherish our freedoms. Whether it be the freedom to say what we want, to assemble in groups of our choosing, to follow the religions of our choice, to vote as our conscience demands, to own and carry weapons, to start new businesses and make money, and to move about as we please -- these are values we hold dear and are reluctant to compromise.
