Anniversary of Rachel Carson’s "Silent Spring" Celebrated at Lasell

November 8, 2012

In honor of the 50th anniversary of Rachel Carson's landmark environmental book Silent Spring, Lasell College will host a screening and talk back of the documentary-style film A Sense of Wonder with writer and actress Kaiulani Lee on November 9.

The event will be held in Lasell's Rosen Auditorium on Friday, November 9, 2012 between 2 - 4 pm and is sponsored by the RoseMary B. Fuss Center for Research on Aging and Intergenerational Studies.

A Sense of Wonder tells the story of Carson's love for the natural world and her fight to defend it. The film was shot on location at Carson's cabin in Maine and was directed by Christopher Monger, produced by Karen Montgomery and Kaiulani Lee and shot by Haskell Wexler.

Lee has starred in over a dozen plays on and off-Broadway. She has been nominated for the Drama Desk Award on Broadway and has won the OBIE Award for outstanding achievement off-Broadway. She has guest starred on numerous television series and taught in the film department at NYU'S Kanbar Institute of Film and Television.
