Head Coach- Women's Softball

Lasell College, located in Newton, MA, is seeking applications for the part-time position of Head Softball Coach.  This position is housed in the Department of Athletics and reports to the Director of Athletics.

 Lasell College is a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and the NCAA Division III.  Lasell College's 50-acre campus is located in Newton, MA, a community located ten miles west of Boston. The co-educational institution, offering professionally oriented baccalaureate and master's degree programs, has an enrollment of 1600 full-time undergraduate students. 

Primary Job Responsibilities:
The Head Coach will direct all facets of a competitive NCAA Division III softball program, with a special emphasis on the recruitment of appropriate student-athletes.  Specific tasks include, but are not limited to: practice and game preparation; budgeting; academic support; fundraising for spring training trip; supervision of assistant coach(es); and insuring the general welfare and the development of the student-athletes.  It is required that the candidate will have a complete understanding of all NCAA Division III philosophies and regulations, and will adhere to these at all times.  Regular day, evening and weekend hours are required.

Bachelor's degree required; previous coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate level is strongly preferred.   Knowledge and compliance with NCAA Division III rules required.  The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the developmental education of student-athletes, a strong work ethic, organizational skills, computer skills, and the ability to interact professionally within the Department and the larger campus community, and with our external constituents.  CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.

State Board of Higher Education Approves New Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice  Wednesday, December 17, 2014The Massachusetts Board of Higher Education has approved a new Master’s degree in Criminal Justice at Lasell that will offer students multiple concentrations in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Violence Prevention and Advocacy as well as a flexible Criminal Justice option. The online program launches in Fall 2015.
