Career Counselor/Coordinator of Employer Relations
Working within a student development framework, the professionals in the Student Affairs division at Lasell College strive to create an environment wherein students' learning is supported and their individual growth is enhanced. The Office of Career Services currently has an opening for a talented individual to join the College community in the position of Career Counselor/Coordinator of Employer Relations. The position is currently available.
Reporting to the Director, the Career Counselor/Coordinator of Employer Relations position will have a strong focus on direct service with various constituencies (undergraduate students; graduate students; alumni) and on building relationships with employers. Specific functions will include: individual career counseling; administration of career-related workshops, presentations and programs; assisting students with professional skill development (resume writing, interviewing techniques, job search skills); administration and interpretation of career assessment instruments; outreach to employers; assisting employers with the registration process in College Central; and working with the College's Internship Coordinator to identify potential internship opportunities.
Bachelor's degree and one to two years of relevant experience in a higher education setting or as a recruiter/trainer in a corporate/business setting, required. Preferred candidates will have a master's degree in a related field (higher education, student development, counseling), and direct experience in the post-secondary career development setting. All candidates should demonstrate: an understanding of career development theory and practice; expertise in the use of career development assessment tools; knowledge of, and experience with, job search strategies and industry outreach; and comfort working with diverse populations.
