Assistant Track Coach-Jumps-Athletic Department

Lasell College invites applications for the part-time position of Assistant Track Coach.Lasell College is a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and the NCAA Division III and offers 15 varsity sports (7 for men and 8 for women). Lasell College's 50-acre campus is located in Newton, MA, a community located ten miles west of Boston. The co-educational institution, offering professionally oriented baccalaureate and master's degree programs, has an enrollment of 1500 full-time undergraduate students. The Assistant Coach will join a full time Head Coach in the Department of Athletics. The Athletic Department is housed in the Division of Student Affairs.

Essential Duties: 
The assistant is responsible for supporting the overall administration of the track & field multi events and jumps including high jump, long jump, triple jump, and hurdles. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with the daily operation of jumps and hurdles at practices and strength training for jumpers, working with student-athletes in assigned event-specific areas, developing and maintaining a jumpers and hurdlers recruiting database and development of recruiting contacts and identifying, attracting and matriculating outstanding student-athletes to the College.

Qualifications/Requirements: 
Bachelor's degree required Previous coaching and/or experience at the collegiate level is strongly preferred Knowledge of jumps and hurdle events and training is required Knowledge and compliance with NCAA Division III rules required USATF LVL1 preferred Demonstrate a commitment to the developmental education of student-athletes, a strong work ethic, organizational skills, computer skills, and the ability to interact professionally within the department, the campus, and the community. On-Campus/On-Site Core Hour availability In-Season (October-May) Monday, Tues, Thurs, Friday: 4:30-7:00 Saturday: For all scheduled meets as necessary Sunday: as necessary On-Campus Core Hour availability Off-Season (May-September) 8 hours per month for tours and coach training sessions Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with college age students, administrators and other college community members.
